Orange
As observed by anyone who has seen the use of fake tan around Deansgate Locks, orange can be a tricky colour to carry off. In my own experience, it can also be a difficult colour when trying to get the correct shade/tone. Too light and it ends up peachy or yellow, too deep and it can stray into brown or red.
Penguin has consistently used orange within its paperback designs. The brand guidelines helpfully provide information on the particular hue used within the current logo:
